Summer Shabbat Celebrations
Fridays
6 p.m. Kabbalat Shabbat Worship each week. We will continue to welcome Shabbat together every Friday evening with our popular 6 p.m. Kabbalat Shabbat worship service. We gather for a light snack (nosh) in the Temple lobby beginning at 5:15 and then join in our joyous Shabbat worship that is open to the entire family and community every week. The service includes songs, prayers, meditation and either a Torah reading, D'var Torah, teaching of torah or brief sermon or lesson. The service should conclude by approximately 7 p.m. and be followed by a brief Kiddush.
Child Care- A special Shabbat child care program will be offered each Friday evening for children ages 2-6, to enable parents to worship while the children welcome Shabbat together, and then join with our community for Kiddush at the end of the service. This free service is provided by the Women of Reform Judaism.
First Friday Family service - The 6 p.m. service the first Friday of each month will be especially focused on families with children, though those of all ages are encouraged to attend. In addition to our weekly joyous service to welcome Shabbat, the rabbis or cantor will tell a story and will offer birthday blessings.
Tot Shabbat experience - No Service during the summer months. Designed for children ages five and under. On the third Saturday morning of each month, from 9:30-10:15 a.m., we will sing, dance, hear a story, and share in a special project and snack that will help the youngest members of our family understand the joy of celebrating Shabbat together.
